Eye Exams

Eye Exam

At Capitol Eye Care Center Optometry, we provide comprehensive eye care for the whole family. Routine eye exams are essential for maintaining eye health, as many problems show no early symptoms. Detecting issues early allows us to provide care that protects your eyes and supports lifelong vision.

What to Expect During an Eye Exam

During an eye exam, a doctor will ask you questions about your vision and eye health. This is the time to share information about any symptoms or issues you are experiencing, like blurry vision, eye strain, or discomfort. Your doctor will also review your current medications, overall health, and family history of eye conditions to create a complete picture of your ocular health.

Vision Testing

Regular vision testing ensures your vision is as clear as possible. During the exam, the doctor will assess how well you see at various distances. Based on the results, they may recommend eyeglasses, contact lenses, or personalized eye exercises.

Eye Function Testing

Eye function testing evaluates how well your eyes work together. This may include assessments of depth perception, color vision, eye muscle function, peripheral vision, or responsiveness to light. These tests help identify any issues affecting your vision or eye coordination.

Eye Health

A comprehensive eye exam includes a thorough assessment of your eye health. All of our exam rooms are equipped with advanced cameras to capture detailed images of the front of your eyes, helping us detect conditions like dry eye, keratoconus, and cataracts.

To examine the back of your eyes, we use advanced imaging tools such ad Optomap and OCT to evaluate for conditions such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, tumors, and more. Dilation is frequently performed to provide a clearer view of the eye's internal structures.

Tonometry is used to measure eye pressure, a key indicator for diagnosing glaucoma, uveitis (eye inflammation), and eye injuries. We also perform visual field testing to assess peripheral vision and detect diseases such as multiple sclerosis, strokes, brain tumors, and other neurological conditions.

At Capitol Eye Care Center Optometry, our comprehensive exams set us apart from quick 15-minute checkups. We take the time to thoroughly assess your eye health, using advanced tools and the latest technology to detect issues early and provide personalized treatments for the best outcomes. Our commitment to investing in cutting-edge technology ensures you receive the highest standard of care.
